K-Cup, Reconsidered

K-Cup, Reconsidered

The single-serve format is not the enemy of considered coffee. Indifference is.

We make K-Cups for the same reason we make bags: people have lives. Mornings move. Offices need to function. The ritual does not require thirty minutes; it requires intent.

What changes, what does not

The bean does not change. The roast curve does not change. The provenance — Brazil and Guatemala for Midnight, Huila for Meridian, Yirgacheffe for Aurelia — does not change.

What changes is the format. A precision-ground dose, sealed within hours of roasting, in a recyclable shell. One press of a button. One composed cup. Compatible with Keurig 1.0 and 2.0.

The case for pace

There is no virtue in slowness for its own sake. The pour-over morning is one rhythm. The 7:14 a.m. K-Cup before the standup is another. Both can be considered. Both can be refined.

We made the K-Cup because the rest of the day deserves the same coffee as the quiet hours.
